Bulgarian judoka Ivaylo Ivanov claimed a bronze medal in the under-90 kg category at the European Judo Championships in Podgorica, Montenegro—Bulgaria’s first medal at the tournament. Ivanov, a former silver medallist in the 81 kg division, defeated Serbia’s Nemanja Majdov, a former European and world champion, with a clean ippon 2:45 into the golden score period.
