One of the stadiums expected to be ready for international level matches and according to UEFA standards is the City Stadium of Gjakova, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Work on this stadium is progressing at a fast pace, and as a result, it is expected to be ready by the first half of 2025.

This was announced by Labinot Efendija from the Directorate of Sports in Gjakova, who told KosovaPress that the stadium's capacity will be 13,800 seats.
"As is known, a fundamental element for the activity of a sports club is also the sports infrastructure, which the municipality of Gjakova has continuously built or renovated. The City Stadium is also a very large project that is being developed in our municipality. The work is progressing with high intensity. The stadium is being built according to UEFA dimensions, which also affects the licensing and categorization determined by UEFA. The stadium will have a capacity of 13,800 seats and will be a very attractive stadium for our city and all of Kosovo," Efendija said initially.

But not only the football stadium. Tennis is also being developed in Gjakova, and to support it, four tennis courts are being built.
"In Gjakova, there are three tennis clubs that have lacked sports infrastructure for a long time. The municipality of Gjakova is now finishing this project, which is a project with ITF (International Tennis Federation) standards that meets all the criteria for hosting international tournaments, as it includes all the necessary infrastructure and has four tennis courts," Efendija emphasized.
Sports like basketball, handball, and volleyball are also not left out. New investments are being made in the "Shani Nushi" sports hall.

Efendija also mentioned that this year, many sports activities have been held in Gjakova, including boxing tournaments, a high-diving competition from the Hidden Bridge, the most extreme sport in Kosovo, and many other activities.
