All five matches played on Friday in the third round of the Superbet Chess Classic Romania 2024 tournament, the second stage of the Grand Chess Tour circuit, hosted by the Grand Hotel in Bucharest, ended in draws, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Romanian grandmaster Bogdan Daniel Deac (world's 42nd) played against American Wesley So (9th in the world rankings). The other games were Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu (world No. 14) - Gukesh Dommaraju (world No. 6); Alireza Firouzja (world No. 16, Grand Chess Tour 2022 winner) - Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (world No. 20); Ian Nepomniachtchi (world No. 4 ) - Anish Giri (world No. 15); and Fabiano Caruana (world No. 2, Grand Chess Tour 2023 winner) - Nodirbek Abdusattorov (world No. 5).
