Bosnia detains police officers in sex trafficking probe

Investigators from the Criminal Police Sector of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Tuzla Canton (Bosnia and Herzegovina), specifically the Department for Combating Organized and Cyber Crime, conducted actions on March 30, 2026, as part of an investigation led by the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton in the case “B.K. and others.”

Acting on the order of a cantonal prosecutor, they deprived four individuals of their liberty, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Interior of Tuzla Canton's official website.

The suspects are believed to have committed a criminal offense under Article 210a, paragraph 6 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Sex Trafficking.

Those detained include three police officers from the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Tuzla Canton: E.K. (2003) and I.H. (2002), both from Kalesija (police officers of the Kalesija Police Station), A.H. (1990) from Živinice (police officer of the Živinice Police Station), and M.J. (1962) from Banovići.

After criminal processing, the detained individuals will be handed over to the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton.

In this regard, on March 30, 2026, the Director of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Tuzla Canton issued a decision on the temporary suspension of the mentioned police officers, pending the completion of criminal or disciplinary proceedings.
