US urges citizens to leave Saudi Arabia

Politics

The United States has advised its citizens in Saudi Arabia to leave the country due to security concerns.

In a written statement from the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, it said: “We advise U.S. citizens to depart Saudi Arabia via commercial flights if they can travel safely.”

The statement noted that Saudi airspace remains open, although air traffic restrictions are frequently imposed due to ongoing missile and drone (UAV) threats, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

It also emphasized that the airports in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam are open and operational, encouraging U.S. citizens to leave the country safely.

Saudi Arabia has been facing missile and drone attacks launched from Iran in retaliation for attacks by the United States and Israel.
