Bosnia explores digital solutions for Asylum system in Malta

Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ivica Bošnjak participated in the “Conference on the State of Asylum: Digitalisation of the Pact,” organized in Malta by the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA).

The conference brought together senior institutional representatives, experts, academics, civil society representatives and media professionals to exchange experiences on the first months of implementation of the Pact on Migration and Asylum, as well as the challenges ahead.

Particular attention was paid to the opportunities offered by digitalisation and modern technological solutions to improve the efficiency of asylum and migration systems, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina's official Facebook page.

During his visit to Malta, Deputy Minister Bošnjak also met with EUAA Executive Director Nina Gregori. They discussed current developments in asylum and reception, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina’s future plans.

Gregori presented the support that EUAA has so far provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s institutions, specifically the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Sector for Asylum, and indicated that additional support could be provided in line with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s new needs and expectations.

The meeting confirmed the importance of continuing close cooperation with the EUAA with the aim of further strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s asylum and reception system.

Participation in the conference and the bilateral meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and explore ways to further enhance Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capacities in this area.
