Croatia funds projects for national minority communities abroad
For the support of projects and programs of the Croatian national minority in 12 European countries, Croatia has secured the same amount as last year, €2.2 million.
The public call for applications for these projects and programs was announced by the Central State Office for Croats Outside Croatia, CE Report quotes HINA.
Minority organizations (associations, foundations, institutions, religious communities) can submit applications until 16 March.
Priority can be given to programs and projects in culture, education, and science, but also in sports, tourism, and other areas of interest for preserving national identity, strengthening the position of the Croatian minority abroad, and developing relations with the homeland.
Since the total available amount is the same as last year, the allocations for minority organizations in each individual country remain unchanged.
The largest funds, €625,000, are allocated to organizations of the Croatian national minority in Serbia, followed by those in Slovenia (€325,000), Austria and Hungary (each €275,000), and Montenegro (€200,000).
Minority organizations from Romania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Italy are allocated €85,000 each for their programs and projects, those from Slovakia €60,000, from Czech Republic €55,000, and from Bulgaria €40,000.
Unlike last year, when the minimum support per project or program was €400, this year it is €500. The maximum cannot exceed the total amount allocated to organizations in each country.
One applicant can submit a maximum of two applications to the public call, which is available on the website of the Central State Office.
