PASOK Leader Slams Gov’t Over Inquiry Moves
PASOK-KINAL leader Nikos Androulakis on Monday accused the ruling New Democracy of trying to shield its ministers by forming a parliamentary committee to investigate the OPEKEPE scandal. In an interview with Radio Thessaloniki, he said the move was aimed at "whitewashing" ministerial responsibility, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia
He also criticized the government’s support for the Communist Party’s proposal on the Tempi rail disaster inquiry, claiming it was designed to exclude former minister Kostas Karamanlis from scrutiny.
Androulakis pledged to back any inquiry proposal if PASOK's own call for a preliminary investigation committee is accepted. He warned that without it, investigations into former ministers Makis Voridis and Lefteris Avgenakis risk being dropped or neutralized.
On foreign policy, he opposed Turkish defense firms’ involvement in EU security projects, and urged strategic action in response to recent Libyan provocations.
Regarding migration, he advocated faster return procedures for illegal arrivals, accusing the government of freezing the asylum process.
He concluded by stressing that "the sooner New Democracy leaves, the better," declaring PASOK as the only party with a clear plan for governance and zero tolerance for corruption.
