
Greece and Libya Pledge Closer Ties
Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis visited Tripoli on Tuesday, meeting with his Libyan counterpart Taher Al-Baour to reaffirm the countries’ longstanding ties and discuss strengthening bilateral relations, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia
“It is a great honor to be in Tripoli,” Gerapetritis said, delivering a message of peace and cooperation on behalf of the Greek government. He emphasized the shared geography and history between Greece and Libya, adding, “There is much more that unites us than divides us.”
Al-Baour echoed the sentiment, highlighting the historical and cultural bonds between the two Mediterranean nations. He acknowledged existing challenges but stressed that they should not hinder efforts to improve relations. Both ministers expressed hope that this visit would mark the beginning of a renewed, constructive partnership.
