He noted that 2025 will mark 145 years of continuous diplomatic relations between Romania and France—a partnership rooted in shared values, cultural ties, and historic solidarity, including France’s support during Romania’s EU and NATO accession.
Dan described the relationship as a "solid and comprehensive strategic partnership" grounded in democracy, the rule of law, and a rules-based international order. He also praised the Romanian community in France for strengthening bilateral ties through their social and cultural contributions.
Calling Romania a naturally Francophone and Francophile nation, he highlighted robust cultural and educational exchanges, France's role as a major investor, and close cooperation within the EU and NATO.
“Romania and France share a vision for a more united, resilient, and citizen-focused Europe,” Dan concluded.
