PASOK: Government Covers Up OPEKEPE Scandal
PASOK-Movement for Change (KINAL) spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas on Monday accused the Greek government of attempting to cover up the misappropriation of EU agricultural funds by rejecting a proposal for a parliamentary investigative committee, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia
Speaking to Parapolitika 90.1 FM, Tsoukalas said the refusal amounted to “white-washing,” especially as the European Public Prosecutor has warned that the statute of limitations could expire by October 6.
He criticized the government's alternative proposal to investigate 30 years of OPEKEPE operations as a distraction aimed at obscuring the culpability of specific individuals named in the case file. “This is not about long-term distortions, but about illegal acts tied to ministers and officials with clear party identities,” he said.
