US proposes transferring frozen Russian assets to Washington
The United States has proposed that European countries release some Russian sovereign assets frozen following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and transfer them to a financial vehicle under Washington’s supervision, in an effort to revive peace negotiations.
The Financial Times reported this, citing sources who said the idea was raised during last week’s meeting in Miami between US and Ukrainian negotiators and officials from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union and NATO, CE Report quotes ANSA.
European delegates rejected the plan.
