Moldova welcomes EU decision to open two more accession clusters
Moldovan Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has welcomed the decision by the 27 European Union member states to open formal accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova on two additional clusters: the Internal Market and Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
In a message published on social media, Grosu said the decision recognizes the progress Moldova has made in its European integration process.
“Behind this step are reforms, a great deal of work and people who prepare Moldova for accession every day. I thank everyone who contributes to this effort,” the Parliament speaker wrote.
Grosu thanked EU member states for their support and said the authorities would continue implementing the reforms needed to prepare the country for accession.
“The decision by the 27 member states shows that our progress is being recognized and that we can move forward when we do our homework properly,” the official stressed.
The Parliament speaker urged citizens to have confidence in Moldova and in people's ability to contribute to the country's European path.
“Let us have confidence in Moldova and its people. Let us be the generation that takes Moldova into the great European family,” Grosu concluded.
