Sandu Meets Moldovans in Italy

President Maia Sandu met with Moldovan citizens in Treviso and Venice during her July 9–13 visit to Italy, highlighting the vital role of the diaspora in Moldova’s European integration, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Sandu expressed joy at reconnecting with Moldovans abroad, praising their hard work and the respect they’ve earned in Italy. “Even though you are far away, Moldova is present in you,” she said, encouraging them to remain engaged in the country’s future.

She emphasized that the diaspora’s efforts have helped Moldova gain international backing on its EU path.

Earlier in the trip, Sandu attended the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome, hosted by Italian PM Giorgia Meloni and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
