Greece Urged to Boost Productivity
Greece must make a leap in productivity to ensure sustainable prospects, Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos told Parliament on Friday. Speaking during the vote on a new development bill, he warned that the country cannot continue to import significantly more than it exports, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia
“There is no greater security for Greece than a strong, competitive, and productive economy,” he said, adding that only such an economy could retain younger generations and support national defense and income growth.
Theodorikakos emphasized the need for a national strategy and called for the "Made in Greece" label to become a symbol of quality and reliability.
The bill, which covers quality policy and manufacturing reforms in Attica, also includes an amendment to disqualify hundreds of incomplete investment plans from 2004 and 2011, allowing for the recovery of misused funds with interest.
