House Passes Trump-Backed Tax and Spending Bill
The U.S. House of Representatives narrowly passed a sweeping tax-cut and spending bill on Thursday, advancing key elements of Donald Trump’s domestic agenda. The legislation, which passed 218–214, now heads to the former president’s desk for signature, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
The bill, already approved by the Senate in a 51–50 vote with Vice President JD Vance breaking the tie, is projected to add $3.4 trillion to the national debt.
Two Republicans, Thomas Massie and Brian Fitzpatrick, joined Democrats in opposing the measure.
Vice President Vance celebrated the outcome on X, calling it “Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Bill” and adding, “We’ve delivered big tax cuts and the resources necessary to secure the border.”
Trump is expected to sign the bill into law on Friday.
