Co-chairs of the meeting, the UK and Germany, unveiled significant military aid packages and urged partners to increase support. UK Defense Secretary John Healey emphasized the urgency, declaring 2025 a pivotal moment in the war.
Healey announced a new £350 million ($445 million) military aid package as part of a record £4.5 billion ($5.7 billion) defense commitment for 2025. The package includes radar systems, anti-tank mines, drones, and funds for repairing battlefield equipment.
Criticizing Russia’s approach to peace talks, Healey highlighted the growing role of drones in the conflict. He called on defense industries and governments to continue stepping up their support, sending a strong message to both Putin and Ukraine.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov thanked NATO for the €21 billion ($22.6 billion) assistance, emphasizing the need for more air defense systems as Russia intensifies missile and drone strikes. He also acknowledged the key role of the US while noting the increasing leadership from European partners.
The meeting underscored NATO’s continued solidarity with Ukraine as the war enters a decisive phase.
