US Troops Relocated Within Poland

Politics

Polish President Andrzej Duda confirmed that U.S. troops and equipment are being relocated within Poland, not withdrawn, as part of a broader strategy to optimize military operations. The U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) announced the move from the logistics hub in Jasionka, southeastern Poland, to other locations in the country. This adjustment aims to improve support for NATO allies and partners while enhancing operational efficiency, CE Report quotes PAP

Duda clarified that this is a realignment, not a full troop withdrawal, and emphasized the continuation of U.S. presence in Poland. The Polish Ministry of National Defence also confirmed that the relocation follows established plans and is part of NATO’s new initiative to support Ukraine, including military aid and training.

Additionally, U.S. officials have previously stated that around 10,000 American troops will remain stationed in Poland. Poland, along with other NATO countries, will take over responsibilities at the Jasionka airport, which has been crucial for transporting military aid to Ukraine.
