“I do not see any risk of repercussions in Italy–U.S. relations following Donald Trump’s recent statements. These are two systems with such a long and solid history of cooperation that it cannot be erased or renegotiated because of a discussion on social media.”

This was stated by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the event Il Giorno de La Verità, in an interview with newspaper director Maurizio Belpietro, CE Report quotes ANSA.

Meloni emphasized that “our work and our relations appear to be going well, including in recent weeks and months, both at the institutional and economic levels.”

The prime minister also referred to the recent visit of Defense Minister Guido Crosetto to Washington and noted that Italian exports have “grown despite U.S. tariffs in the recent period, demonstrating that our products continue to be very well received.”
