Overwhelming Response to European Village Program 2024 Edition: Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spînu, announced today a remarkable surge in participation for the National Program "European Village", 2024 edition. With 748 applications received, representing over 80% of municipalities nationwide, the program has garnered unprecedented enthusiasm. This year's submissions highlight a diverse array of projects, with 42% focusing on water supply and sanitation, followed by energy efficiency works (20%), sports infrastructure modernization (15%), and cultural house renovations (9%). The comprehensive evaluation process, scheduled to conclude by the end of June, underscores the program's commitment to impactful and sustainable development strategies. Since its inception in 2022, the "European Village" initiative has catalyzed significant improvements in rural and urban areas, with over 700 projects already implemented, ranging from infrastructure enhancements to community facilities revitalization.

Bulgaria Reaffirms Commitment to Balkan Integration Amid Geopolitical Challenges: At the "EU Meets the Balkans" forum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in resignation, Maria Gabriel, emphasized the imperative of unity and integration amidst complex geopolitical dynamics. Gabriel stressed the EU's unwavering support for Balkan integration, citing it as the definitive path towards regional stability and prosperity. Expressing Bulgaria's solidarity with Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia, she underscored the importance of fostering constructive dialogue between nations in the region. Highlighting ongoing efforts to counter anti-European disinformation and propaganda, Gabriel emphasized the EU's commitment to progress based on merits in the enlargement process. She further emphasized the significance of achieving full normalization in relations between Serbia and Kosovo for regional stability. Gabriel concluded by reaffirming Bulgaria's steadfast commitment as a reliable partner in the Western Balkans' journey towards EU integration.
