The Gala in Sofia 2025 festival will take place on August 28–29 at St Alexander Nevsky Square, featuring world-renowned opera stars in two open-air concerts organized by SY11 Events, the production company of soprano Sonya Yoncheva, CE Report quotes BTA

The highlight of the event is the historic first joint performance in Bulgaria of two of the legendary Three Tenors — José Carreras and Plácido Domingo — alongside Sonya Yoncheva. Also appearing are tenor Vittorio Grigolo and the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nayden Todorov.

The first night, titled Italian Evening, features Grigolo and Yoncheva performing arias and duets by Verdi and Puccini, along with beloved film themes by Ennio Morricone and classics such as O sole mio and La Vie en Rose.

The second night brings together Yoncheva, Carreras, and Domingo in a powerful celebration of opera and crossover music. The performance also marks the 35th anniversary of The Three Tenors and honors what would have been Luciano Pavarotti’s 90th birthday.

Organizers expect an audience of around 10,000 and aim to establish the Gala as an annual cultural highlight in Sofia’s calendar.
