March of Memory to Honor Fallen Heroes of the 1992 Conflict

Authorities are calling on citizens to pay tribute to the heroes who perished in the 1992 armed conflict by joining the March of Memory on March 2, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

According to government spokesperson Daniel Voda, the commemoration will begin at 10:00 AM with a flower-laying ceremony at the monument of Stephen the Great and Holy.

President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, and Prime Minister Dorin Recean will participate in the event. At 10:20 AM, they will join veterans of the Transnistria War in the March of Memory, which will proceed from the Great National Assembly Square to the Grieving Mother monument. The procession will be led by the honor guard and Military Band, with students from the Police Academy carrying portraits of fallen heroes.

At 11:10 AM, a rally will be held at the Eternity Memorial Complex, followed by a national moment of silence at 11:30 AM. Participants will then lay flowers at the Grieving Mother monument, and former combatants will be invited to a soldier's lunch in their honor.
