Bosnia records strong growth in tourism numbers
The total number of tourist arrivals in March 2026 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 73,297, which is 13.4% more compared to March 2025.
Compared to February 2026, the number of tourists in March was higher by 22.6%, CE Report quotes FENA.
Domestic tourists accounted for 29.2%, while foreign tourists made up 70.8%.
The total number of tourist overnight stays in March 2026 in the Federation of BiH was 140,390, which is 13.9% more compared to March 2025, and 19.3% more compared to February 2026. Domestic tourists accounted for 27.4% of overnight stays, while foreign tourists accounted for 72.6%.
By type of accommodation, the highest number of overnight stays was recorded in Hotels and similar accommodation, with a share of 95.9%.
According to data from the Federal Statistical Office, in the structure of foreign tourist overnight stays, the most overnight stays were made by tourists from Croatia (22.6%), Türkiye (10.3%), Serbia (9.2%), Italy (5.8%), and Germany (5.3%), totaling 53.2%. Tourists from other countries accounted for 46.8% of overnight stays.
The number of available beds in March 2026 was 29,799, which is 2.4% less compared to March 2025. The net occupancy rate of beds in Hotels and similar accommodation in the Federation of BiH was 16.8%.
