Billie Eilish fans discover her mother appeared in popular sitcom Friends
Fans of American singer Billie Eilish have uncovered a surprising detail about her mother Maggie Baird's acting career, discovering that she appeared in an episode of the popular 1990s sitcom Friends.
Although Baird is widely known for her musical background and her role in supporting her daughter's career, she also worked as an actress and appeared in several television productions, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Many fans were surprised to learn that they had seen her in one of the most recognizable comedy series of the 1990s.
Baird appeared in a 1999 episode of Friends titled "The One Where Joey Loses His Health Insurance." She played a casting director conducting an audition attended by Joey Tribbiani, portrayed by Matt LeBlanc.
During the scene, Joey attempts to secure an acting job to earn money for hernia surgery. However, because of the pain caused by his condition, he struggles to lift the product he is supposed to advertise. Instead, he suggests simply pointing at it.
The discovery quickly spread across social media, surprising both Friends enthusiasts and Billie Eilish fans, many of whom had never noticed Baird's brief appearance.
Several social media users expressed disbelief that they had overlooked the cameo despite watching the popular sitcom multiple times.
"How did I miss this?" one fan commented.
Another wrote, "I just watched this episode, and now I'm annoyed that I didn't recognize her myself."
Beyond her appearance in Friends, Baird has built an extensive acting career, with roles in television series including The X-Files, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The West Wing, Charmed, Six Feet Under and Bones.
She has also worked as a voice actress, notably providing the voice of Samara in the popular video games Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.
The renewed attention surrounding her acting career has introduced many younger fans to a lesser-known chapter of Baird's professional life, long before her daughter became an internationally recognized music star.
