P. Diddy transferred to new US federal prison following reported inmate altercation
Hip-hop star P. Diddy, convicted of offenses involving the transportation of people for prostitution, has been transferred to a new U.S. federal prison amid media reports of an altercation and preferential treatment during his incarceration, AFP reports.
The 56-year-old American music mogul was moved from the Fort Dix detention facility in New Jersey to Allenwood Low Federal Correctional Institution in neighboring Pennsylvania, a spokesperson for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed on Friday, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.
Allenwood Low houses approximately 1,000 inmates, compared with around 4,000 at Fort Dix.
According to several American media outlets, Sean Combs, the rapper's real name, received medical treatment at the prison hospital for a head injury following an altercation with another inmate last weekend.
In September 2026, NBC News also reported that the rapper had been enjoying relatively comfortable conditions at Fort Dix, allegedly having access to contraband mobile phones and alcohol, both prohibited in federal prisons.
The network further claimed that other inmates cooked his meals, cleaned his cell, and even provided him with massages.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has not disclosed the reason for his transfer.
"For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement of individuals in our custody, including the reasons for any transfer," a spokesperson stated.
P. Diddy was sentenced in 2025 following a highly publicized trial that revealed details of prolonged sexual encounters he organized, allegedly coercing several women into participating, including his former girlfriend, singer Casandra Ventura.
The jury acquitted him of the most serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, but found him guilty on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
Sean Combs is scheduled to be released from prison in March 2028.
