Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison release date changes for another time
The scheduled prison release date for 56-year-old music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been postponed to March 2, 2028, following reports of alleged misconduct during his incarceration.
Combs is serving a 50-month prison sentence after being convicted on two counts related to transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution, CE Report quotes Kosova Press
Taking into account the time he has spent in custody since his arrest in September 2024, he was initially expected to be released in June 2028. However, his projected release date has changed several times.
Last week, it was reported that Combs would be released from FCI Fort Dix on January 21, 2028, replacing an earlier scheduled date of February 5.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has now listed March 2, 2028, as his expected release date.
The change follows an NBC News report alleging that Combs spends thousands of dollars each month paying fellow inmates to provide massages, prepare meals, clean and do his laundry. The report also included allegations involving the illegal introduction of mobile phones and alcohol into the prison.
A BOP spokesperson declined to comment on the reasons behind the revised release date, citing privacy and security concerns.
The NBC News investigation included allegations from four men who shared a prison unit with Combs.
They claimed that the music mogul paid one inmate to clean toilets and shower areas before he used them and hired others to prepare special meals, including pizza.
A representative for the “I’ll Be Missing You” singer said they did not know why his release date continued to change.
“Sean remains focused on serving his sentence, awaits the decision on his appeal and looks forward to spending quality time with his family when he returns home,” the representative said.
Following the NBC News report, TMZ reported that the Bad Boy Records founder was being transferred back to the Special Housing Unit (SHU), commonly associated with solitary confinement.
Sources told the outlet that such transfers are standard procedure when prison officials are investigating an inmate.
Authorities have not publicly confirmed whether the alleged misconduct is connected to the change in Combs’ projected release date.
