American singer and songwriter Chappell Roan announced that she has parted ways with her agent, Casey Wasserman, who is also the chairman of the organizing committee for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games and whose name appears in the Epstein files, AFP reports.

“As of today, I am no longer represented by the Wasserman agency,” said the performer of “Good Luck, Babe” on her Instagram account.

The name of Casey Wasserman, 51, appeared among the most recent documents related to the Epstein case published by the U.S. government, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

The documents reveal obscene email exchanges from 2003 between Wasserman and Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for helping the convicted sex offender recruit minors whom he forced into prostitution for the benefit of political leaders, figures from the business world, the entertainment industry, and even members of royal families.

“No artist, agent, or employee should be expected to defend or turn a blind eye to actions that are deeply at odds with our moral values,” Chappell Roan wrote.

“I refuse to stand by,” said the 27-year-old singer-songwriter. “Artists deserve representation that reflects their values and supports their safety and dignity,” she added, defending her “belief that real change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that inspires trust.”

Casey Wasserman apologized at the end of January for having maintained contact with Ghislaine Maxwell.

“I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which took place more than 20 years ago, long before her horrific crimes were exposed,” he said in a statement, denying any “personal or professional relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.”

Despite calls for his resignation, the U.S. Olympic Committee reaffirmed its confidence last week in the president of the organizing committee for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Although the mere mention of a person’s name in the Epstein case does not necessarily imply wrongdoing, many prominent figures are feeling the shockwaves of these revelations, AFP also notes.
