Bulgaria finds out Eurovision semi-final slot
Bulgaria will participate in the second semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna on May 14. On Monday, a draw was held to determine the order in which the participants will take the stage in this year's 70th anniversary edition of the contest. The ceremony was broadcast on the official Eurovision YouTube channel.
The first semifinal will be on May 12 and will feature Georgia, Portugal, Croatia, Sweden, Finland, Moldova, Greece, Montenegro, Estonia, San Marino, Poland, Belgium, Lithuania, Serbia, and Israel, CE Report quotes BTA.
The second semi-final, featuring Bulgaria, will include Armenia, Romania, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Albania, Denmark, Cyprus, Norway, Malta, Australia, Ukraine, and Latvia.
Six other countries will also participate in the contest: the "Big Five" (the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France), as well as Austria, the host country. These countries do not participate in the draw and qualify directly for the grand final which will be held on May 16. The draw took place at Vienna City Hall under the supervision of European Broadcasting Union (EBU) representatives.
As reported by CE Report, at the end of December, Bulgarian National Television (BNT) announced the fifteen Bulgarian performers who accepted the invitation to participate in the national selection process to choose the performer and song that will represent Bulgaria in the international phase of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May 2026. The performers are Kerana and the Cosmonauts, Mihaela Marinova, Mihaela Fileva, Molec, Roksana, Fiki, Dara, Dara Ekimova, Dia, Elizabeth, Innerglow, Mona, Preya, Val, and Veniamin.
