Kylie Minogue ties Eminem, David Bowie with 11 №1 UK albums
Kylie Minogue has once again demonstrated her dominance on the UK charts, reaching the number one spot for the 11th time with Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped).
With this achievement, the Australian superstar enters the pantheon of legends, tying with David Bowie and Eminem for the artists with the most No. 1 albums of all time, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped) is a reissue of her 2015 Christmas album. Although the original album only reached No. 12, the new release—which includes four new songs and a rearranged tracklist—is counted as a new work under chart rules. This extends a non-consecutive streak of success that began in 1988, when her self-titled debut album stayed at the top for six weeks.
Kylie now surpasses major names such as ABBA, Coldplay, Michael Jackson, Elton John, and Queen, while tying with Rod Stewart and U2. However, the race for the absolute top remains open, as she still trails the all-time leaders, The Beatles and Robbie Williams, who share the first place with 15 No. 1 albums each. Robbie Williams is hoping to claim the record outright in February with the release of his upcoming album, titled Britpop.
As reported by CE Report, the Turkish version of the John Lennon song appeared on the U.S. TV show.
