Achille Lauro delivers emotional tribute at Teatro Ariston

The stage of the Teatro Ariston is shrouded in darkness, where a twenty-member choir and soprano Valentina Gargano accompany Achille Lauro in a spine-chilling performance of Perdutamente, one of his most moving songs, in tribute to the victims of Crans Montana. It is the song that the mother of Achille Barosi, who died at 16 in the New Year’s Eve fire, sang beside her son’s coffin, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The audience rises in a standing ovation.

“I would like to say something very important: music has the task of accompanying us through life. It is not just entertainment, but something more visceral. If this has comforted even just one person and done some good, then for us it was a duty,” says Achille Lauro. The tribute, as Carlo Conti emphasizes, “is for those young people, for those who are still suffering and fighting, and so that tragedies like this may never happen again.”
