American singer Pink, a three-time Grammy winner, will host the 79th edition of the Tony Awards, the most prestigious honors in the Broadway theater industry, Variety reports.

Tony Awards Productions announced Thursday that Pink — a global pop star and lifelong theater fan — has been selected to host this year’s ceremony, which will take place at Radio City Music Hall on June 7, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

“It’s an honor I will carry with me for a lifetime to host a night dedicated to the hardest-working people in show business,” Pink said in a statement. “Broadway has shaped my life and the way I design my own shows — it is a supportive and inclusive community, full of talent and love,” she added.

Her connection to Broadway is strong, with her music currently featured in two New York productions: “Raise Your Glass” in Moulin Rouge! The Musical and “F**kin’ Perfect” in & Juliet.

The singer also joked that her daughter had the final say in her decision to host the 2026 Tony Awards.

Since her breakthrough in 2000, Pink has sold over 60 million albums worldwide, released nine studio albums, and scored 15 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including four number-one songs. Her awards include three Grammys, a Daytime Emmy, and seven MTV Video Music Awards — including the Vanguard Award in 2017 — as well as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In 2019, she became the first international artist to receive the BRIT Award for outstanding contribution to music. Her most recent tour, Summer Carnival Tour, became the second highest-grossing tour by a female artist, drawing over 4 million fans across 131 shows in 15 countries during 2023–2024.

Major Broadway names are expected to attend this year’s Tony Awards, including Lea Michele, Joshua Henry, Lesley Manville, and John Lithgow.

Nominations will be announced on May 5.

The ceremony will be broadcast live across the United States by CBS and the streaming platform Paramount+ on June 7.
