Shorts festival honors rising Italian actor
Saul Nanni will receive the Prospettiva 2026 Award at the ShorTS International Film Festival, scheduled to take place from June 26 to July 4 in Trieste.
Established in 2009, the award represents a bet on the future of young talents, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Over the years, the prize has been awarded to several notable actors, including Alba Rohrwacher, Luca Marinelli, Michele Riondino, Matilda De Angelis, Aurora Giovinazzo and Massimiliano Caiazzo.
Born in 1999, Saul Nanni made his debut in 2014 in the television series Alex & Co and in cinema with Un boss in salotto.
After further performances on television and in film, he became co-star in 2020 of Brado, directed by and starring Kim Rossi Stuart. The role earned him a Golden Globe Italy and a nomination for the Nastri d’Argento.
In 2024, he portrayed a young Rocco Siffredi in the series Supersex and was among the young protagonists of Fino alla fine directed by Gabriele Muccino.
The following year, he played the iconic Tancredi Falconeri in the Netflix series The Leopard.
At the 2025 Venice Film Festival, in the parallel section Giornate degli Autori, his performance in La Gioia attracted attention for his role as a manipulative murderer opposite Valeria Golino. The performance earned him the Best Actor award at the Mar del Plata Film Festival.
Saul Nanni will receive the award on June 28 and participate in a public masterclass at Teatro Miela led by ShorTS director Maurizio Di Rienzo.
