Italian music legends take over Piazza San Marco
Piazza San Marco will provide the stunning backdrop for concerts by Riccardo Cocciante, Andrea Bocelli, and Claudio Baglioni on June 25 and 27, and during a double concert on June 29 and 30.
The singer-songwriter, who will resume his tour on June 20, has chosen Venice as a stop for his tour “Io… Riccardo Cocciante nel 2026,” CE Report quotes ANSA.
“A special event in one of the most iconic places in the world, where the power of words meets the timeless beauty of Venice,” said Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro.
The concert will take place in the year in which the Maestro celebrates his 80th birthday, making it a unique opportunity to experience live the songs of one of the world’s most renowned artists and composers, who has released 40 albums in three languages and enjoyed a career spanning decades.
The tour coincides with performances of Notre Dame de Paris, the modern pop opera that is set to celebrate 25 years since its Italian debut. Another Veneto stop for Cocciante is scheduled for July 20 at Castello Carrarese in Este.
Piazza San Marco will also host Andrea Bocelli, who will celebrate a special anniversary: 30 years of Romanza, the album that marked a turning point in his career and remains the best-selling album worldwide by an Italian artist, with over 20 million copies sold. Bocelli will perform a repertoire that has made music history.
“It is an event of the highest artistic level, set in a unique location capable of combining music, beauty, and magic,” Brugnaro added.
Finally, Claudio Baglioni will launch his GrandTour from the lagoon city, accompanied by a full ensemble of 20 musicians and singers. The tour follows the studio reunion of the group for the new edition of “La vita è adesso, il sogno è sempre,” which Baglioni will perform in its entirety for the first time, along with the greatest hits from his 60-year career—a milestone in Italian popular culture.
