The film “Mario, Maria, Marinel (MMM)”, directed by Violeta Gorgos, will premiere on Monday, November 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Cinema Hall of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant in Bucharest.

The screening marks an important milestone for Moldovan cinema, as the production is a joint collaboration between OWH Studio, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Romania, the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant, and the National Center of Cinematography of the Republic of Moldova, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The 73-minute film follows Maria, a woman living with her son Marinel in a Moldovan village while waiting for her husband, who works abroad. The arrival of Felicia — her childhood friend and a soprano now living in Vienna — and Felicia’s husband Mario, disrupts the fragile balance of their quiet world.

The cast includes Diana Decuseara-Onica, Leo Rudenco, Gabriel Lițcan, Valentina Nafornița, and Radu Ghilaș. The screenplay is written by Violeta Gorgos, Florin Lăzărescu, and Ioan Antoci.

Through its poetic tone and emotional depth, “Mario, Maria, Marinel” explores migration, identity, and the fragility of human relationships, while reinforcing the cultural connection between Chișinău and Bucharest.
