A temporary exhibition exploring the rich history of the Black Sea will be held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from July 6 to 16, Bulgaria’s Ministry of Culture announced Tuesday. The event is part of preparations for Bulgaria’s hosting of the 47th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2025, CE Report quotes BTA

The display will feature archaeological finds and visuals highlighting Bulgaria’s underwater and maritime heritage — from prehistoric submerged settlements to ancient shipwrecks preserved in the Black Sea’s oxygen-free depths. Key exhibits include ruins from ancient Mesembria, the temple of Cybele in Balchik, and artifacts showcasing centuries of trade and cultural exchange.

The ministry emphasized the importance of promoting cultural heritage and noted that offering state guarantees for the artifacts helps reduce costs and support international museum cooperation.
