Kanye West Plans Courtroom Comeback to Support Diddy

Kanye West has been in contact with Sean "Diddy" Combs' family about the possibility of attending Combs' ongoing criminal trial to show his support, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

A source close to Combs told CNN West, now known as Ye, is currently in New York City. He did not attend Thursday's court hearing but wants to attend to show support for Combs, the source said, adding that West has been in contact with Combs' son, Christian "King" Combs, about attending the trial with the Combs family.

Combs' sons have been present in court for most of the trial.

Christian Combs and West are currently working together on musical projects, the source added.

The person close to Combs said West could attend when the defense's case begins. Prosecutors in the case have said they expect to wrap up their case next week, meaning the defense could begin calling its witnesses soon.

West, who has been widely condemned and shunned by most of his reps and business partners for his repeated anti-Semitic statements and other controversies in recent years, has expressed public support for Combs since he was detained pending trial. West is one of the few public figures to show support for the renowned music producer, who has been accused of sexual assault or other inappropriate behavior in more than 60 civil cases and is on trial in federal court on criminal charges that include sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit extortion and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

Combs has denied any wrongdoing and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

West has posted messages on social media calling for Combs' release before his trial.

In March, West released a song that included a recorded phone conversation from prison between him and Combs. The song also features Christian Combs and West's daughter with Kim Kardashian.

In February, West sparked outrage for selling swastika-emblazoned jerseys, which he promoted in a Super Bowl ad. His support for Combs on social media coincided with a wave of criticism for his anti-Semitic posts around the same time.

A representative for Combs and his son, Christian, declined to comment. West is not known to be currently working with a public relations representative and CNN was unable to reach him.
