The Varna Summer International Theatre Festival welcomes Pillar of Salt, a dark absurdist comedy by Montenegro’s Royal Theatre Zetski dom. Directed by Bulgarian guest Javor Gardev and based on a play by Aleksandar Radunovic, the production delves into the darker sides of human nature and global conflict, CE Report quotes BTA

Also featured is Anna, The Incorrigible by Orenda Art Center and Toplocentrala, part of the Showcase programme. Written by Stefano Massini and directed by Nadya Pancheva, the play honors Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya and draws from her personal writings and reports on the Second Chechen War. The documentary-style production marks the play’s first staging in Eastern Europe.
