Miley Cyrus speaks out on Billy Ray’s relationship with Liz Hurley

Miley Cyrus has broken her silence about her father, Billy Ray,'s relationship with Liz Hurley — after reconciling with him following a family rift, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The Wrecking Ball singer, 32, revealed that she is handling her new romance “like a grown-up.” Miley had cut off contact with the country music star, 63, after his 30-year marriage to her mother, Tish Purcell, 58, ended in 2023.

But now she wishes "happiness" to her father, who has been married three times, and Liz, 59, despite experiencing "pain" watching her parents split.

Miley said: "I'm acting like an adult. It's hard at first, because the child inside you reacts before the adult inside you says, 'Yes, he's your father, but he's also a person who deserves to be at peace and happy.' My inner child has already achieved that."

The former Disney Channel star said that the reasons for her problems are linked to her closeness with her mother — who had been Billy Ray's second wife, after he divorced Cindy Smith in 1991.

She told the New York Times podcast: “My mother has really loved my father her whole life, and I think being married to someone in the music industry without being a part of it is, of course, very difficult.

"I think I took on some of my mother's pain as my own, because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult, and so I absorbed a lot of her pain."

Confirming that she has fully reconciled with her father, Miley added: "It's been a long time since he reunited us all. I think timing is everything."

Billy Ray met Austin Powers star Liz on the set of their 2022 film, Christmas in Paradise. They went public with a romantic photo in a field in April.

Previously, Billy Ray had sought Liz's help when his third marriage to Australian singer Firerose collapsed after seven months last year.

A source said: "Everyone said they were very different, but they're actually very similar — they have a lot in common and the same interests, and Billy is also very much her type."

Liz revealed last month that she's ready to take the relationship to the next level, preparing to introduce Billy Ray to her family.

He is expected to meet them next week in England, when she will celebrate her 60th birthday.
