Serbia-Croatia checkpoints see up to six-hour truck delays
Trucks at the Batrovci–Bajakovo and Bačka Palanka–Ilok border crossings from Serbia into Croatia are waiting for around six hours, while at the Šid–Tovarnik and Bezdan–Batina crossings the delay is about four hours, Serbia’s public company “Putevi Srbije” said.
According to information from the Border Police Directorate of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, freight traffic is also slowed at the Kelebija border crossing towards Hungary, where trucks are waiting for customs procedures for more than two hours, and about an hour and a half at the exit from Serbia towards Bulgaria at the Gradina crossing, CE Report quotes HINA.
Due to the implementation of the European Union’s Entry/Exit System (EES), delays in passenger traffic at border crossings towards EU countries—especially towards Croatia and Hungary—depending on the time of day and traffic intensity, can, according to travellers, last from around 30 minutes up to two and a half hours.
At other border crossings from Serbia, there are no longer delays for any category of vehicles.
