Albania's inflation outlook shows improved price stability
Consumer price inflation in Albania slowed slightly in October and November, averaging 2.2%, as food price inflation eased and rent growth moderated, Bank of Albania Governor Gent Sejko said.
Speaking at a press conference, Sejko said the decline was also supported by the fading negative impact of oil prices, while inflation in other categories remained broadly stable, CE Report quotes ATA.
“Domestic inflationary pressures remain aligned with our price stability objective, reflecting a better balance between demand and supply in the goods market,” Sejko said.
He added that external pressures have further weakened, mirroring lower commodity prices globally and a slower appreciation of the lek.
Core and domestic inflation remained around 3.1-3.5% in October-November, he said, while imported inflation fell into negative territory and short-term inflation reached historic lows.
As reported by CE Report, Albania committed to bilateral pensions agreement with Greece.
