Moldovagaz Secures Full Gas Supply for Winter 2024-2025

Moldovagaz has announced the successful completion of natural gas purchases for the heating season from October 2024 to March 2025, covering the right bank of the Dniester, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The procurement process, initiated in July and finalized on December 12, secured 7,952,196 MWh of natural gas, equivalent to approximately 747.9 million cubic meters. The weighted average purchase price is €47.88/MWh, or about €509.15 per 1,000 cubic meters.

The majority of the gas—7,443,773 MWh (approximately 700.1 million cubic meters)—was acquired through the Romanian Commodities Exchange between August and December 2024. This included 31 transactions on the GasForward market (7,184,259 MWh) and SPOT market purchases (259,514 MWh).

The remaining 508,423 MWh (around 47.8 million cubic meters) was procured from Energocom in compliance with the Moldovan government's natural gas storage obligations outlined in Decision No. 365/2024.

Moldovagaz confirms that all gas will be delivered to the Republic of Moldova’s Virtual Transition Point (PVT).
