Croatia to integrate 6,000 persons with disabilities into labour market
The government of Croatia has set a goal to integrate an additional 6,000 persons with disabilities into the labour market by 2028, allocating €28 million for incentives, workplace adaptations, and training,
It was said at the conference “Employment of Persons with Disabilities: Incentives, Practice and Solutions,” CE Report quotes HINA.
The Ombudsman for Persons with Disabilities of the Republic of Croatia, Darijo Jurišić, speaking about the position of persons with disabilities in the labour market, said that outdated prejudices about their lower productivity, lack of skills, and overall ability to work are still too common.
He also noted that good practice examples show that persons with disabilities are not a burden but a valuable human resource, adding that they often develop exceptional skills by adapting to life circumstances, while companies that employ them benefit from greater employee loyalty and improved social reputation.
