BMW Group sales fall in Q1 amid declines in China, US
Sales of BMW Group fell by 3.5% in the first quarter to 565,748 vehicles, due to a 10% decline in China and a 4% drop in the United States.
Positive results for the automaker came from growth in Europe (+3%) and more than 50,000 orders for its new electric SUV, the BMW iX3.
The BMW Group also recorded significant growth in its domestic market, Germany, with 68,022 units delivered (+10.7%), CE Report quotes ANSA.
Regarding individual brands, BMW delivered a total of 496,050 vehicles worldwide in the quarter (-4.6%). Mini performed well, with global sales rising 5.9% to 68,427 units compared to the same period last year. Rolls-Royce recorded an 8% decline, with 1,271 vehicles sold.
During the same period, BMW Motorrad sold 42,735 motorcycles and scooters (-4.2%).
Electric vehicle sales dropped by 20.1%, totaling 87,458 units.
