Radev Challenges Euro Referendum Block in Court

Bulgaria

President Rumen Radev will petition Bulgaria’s Constitutional Court over the National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova’s rejection of his proposal for a national referendum on adopting the euro, CE Report quotes BTA

Before departing for Japan on Friday, Radev accused political circles of trying to silence public concerns. He rejected claims that his initiative is anti-euro, stating it is about giving citizens a voice: “Every Bulgarian should have a say on our preparedness to adopt the euro next year.”

He welcomed the emerging debate on the country’s readiness.
