Bulgaria's Golden Sands to host TUI global leadership meeting
Bulgaria's Golden Sands Resort will host the Senior Leadership Team Meeting of TUI Group, one of the world's leading tour operators, from September 24 to 26, the Tourism Ministry of Bulgaria reported Tuesday. A total of 155 TUI senior managers are expected to attend.
Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov held an online meeting with Thomas Ellerbeck, member of the TUI Group Executive Committee and TUI Group Director of Corporate and External Affairs, and Vincent Snauwaert, Head of Government Relations at the German tour operator.
They discussed air connectivity, broadening of tourist programmes to Bulgaria, and joint marketing activities with one of the biggest integrated tourism groups in the world, Dimitrov's Ministry reported, CE Report quotes BTA.
The Tourism Minister was quoted as saying: "Our goal is to maintain an active partnership with TUI based on a concrete plan. Hosting this meeting is an exceptional opportunity for decision-makers responsible for tourism programmes, air capacity, hotel partnerships, investments, and marketing to gain firsthand insight into Bulgaria’s potential."
In his words, Bulgaria has been part of TUI’s tourism portfolio for decades, traditionally as a destination for summer beach tourism. There is significant potential for a broader strategic dialogue and for developing the bilateral partnership beyond the summer season, he added.
The TUI Senior Leadership Team Meeting is among the initiatives approved by Varna Municipality for the September-October period to promote the coastal city as a tourist destination. The meeting will include a tour of Varna for the tourism group's leadership.
