Bulgarian Minister Warns Government Could Become a Minority After Vote Recalculation

Bulgaria

Environment and Water Minister Manol Genov stated on Nova TV that the government might become a minority one following the upcoming recalculation of parliamentary election results. He suggested that seeking a new majority could be an option, CE Report quotes BTA

If the Velichie party enters Parliament after the recount, the ruling coalition will reassess its strategy. Genov noted that the majority might shrink to 121–122 MPs instead of the current 125–126, depending on the final results.

He also pointed out that the opposition remains divided and expressed confusion over Democratic Bulgaria's withdrawal from government negotiations. Despite potential shifts, Genov said he had no major complaints about the coalition’s functioning, adding that he had not sensed tensions among partners in his ministerial role.
