Ukrainian drones strike Wildberries facilities in Russia

Russian authorities said Ukrainian drones targeted a Wildberries warehouse in the Penza region and a logistics center in the city of Sarapul, causing fires and injuries.

Penza Region Governor Oleg Melnichenko said in a written statement that a warehouse belonging to Wildberries, Russia's largest e-commerce platform, was struck by Ukrainian drones. According to preliminary information, one person was injured, and around 200 employees were evacuated from the facility, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Melnichenko added that ambulances, firefighters, and security personnel were dispatched to the scene. He said a fire continued to burn at the warehouse, with emergency crews working to bring the blaze under control.

Wildberries facilities targeted

In a separate statement, Wildberries confirmed that a drone attack also targeted its logistics center in Sarapul, located in Russia's Udmurt Republic.

The company said the strike caused a fire at the facility. However, the logistics center had already been evacuated after an air raid alert was issued, and no injuries were reported in the Sarapul attack.

Ukraine has intensified its attacks on facilities belonging to the Russian e-commerce platform Wildberries in recent months.

Previous attacks affected sellers

Earlier drone attacks on Wildberries warehouses in Russia's Leningrad region expanded the impact of the war to commercial logistics networks.

Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko said the fires caused significant damage, affecting around 1,500 sellers.

"The fires affected approximately 1,500 sellers. The company is trying to provide support to the affected businesses," Drozdenko said.

He added that the regional government would also support local producers by offering low-interest loans to help damaged businesses meet their capital needs.
