Six sailors killed after Russian strike on civilian vessel near Odesa

Six sailors from a vessel attacked by Russia near Odesa have died, and four others are missing.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Minister of Recovery, Infrastructure, and Transport Mykola Kalashnyk on Telegram, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

“Eight crew members were rescued. Two of them were injured. Unfortunately, as of now, six sailors are confirmed dead, and four more are considered missing,” the statement reads.

It is noted that the search and rescue operation is ongoing.

As reported, the Russian military launched a missile strike on a civilian vessel flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau; five crew members were killed, eight were evacuated, and the fate of five remains unknown.

There were 18 people on board: 17 citizens of Syria and India, as well as a Ukrainian pilot.
