Sean Penn visits Ukrainian troops
American actor Sean Penn visited servicemen of the 3rd Spartan Operational Brigade of Ukraine's National Guard.
The brigade reported this on Facebook, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.
During the visit, the actor spoke with the troops, thanked them for their service, and expressed support for Ukrainian soldiers who are fighting every day for the country's independence and freedom.
The commander of the Spartan Brigade, Colonel Oleksii Khilchenko, briefed Penn on the unit's battlefield successes and the current realities of the war.
As a token of appreciation for his support, Khilchenko presented Penn with the brigade's flag and a commemorative award.
This is not Penn's first visit to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, and he has consistently supported the Ukrainian people in their fight against Russian aggression.
Such visits send an important signal that Ukraine is not alone in its struggle.
Earlier, Penn visited a unit of the 157th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, which is carrying out combat missions in the Donetsk region.
