Macron, Zelensky discuss support to counter Russian drones
French President Emmanuel Macron discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky what assistance Paris could provide to intercept Russian drones.
Macron announced this on social media platform X following his conversation with Zelensky, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.
“President Zelensky and I discussed the specific support we can provide to help Ukraine intercept drones and counter Russian aggression,” he wrote.
According to Macron, during the conversation, he once again assured the Ukrainian leader of France’s solidarity and full support at a time “when Russia has reached a dead end on the front lines, stubbornly rejects all calls for a ceasefire, and is making an irresponsible choice—intensifying attacks on infrastructure and civilian targets.”
He added that France and Europe will continue to support Ukraine and seek ways to protect civilians, reduce the intensity of hostilities, and bring about a just and lasting peace.
“We will not yield to intimidation or to escalation on Russia’s part. Russia must make no mistake—time is working against it,” Macron concluded.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with French President Emmanuel Macron Russia’s terrorist escalation, Ukraine’s defense needs, new defense supplies, and the training of Ukrainian pilots on French Rafale aircraft.
